Established 2017-18 to drive conscious, consistent, catalytic quality improvement.
The basic purpose of establishing the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), as a post-accreditation quality measure, is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution, and to assure all stakeholders of the quality and capacity-building programmes on offer. The IQAC was established at GIMR in 2017–18. To support its work, the institute has formed a range of committees, including the Anti-Ragging Committee, Anti-Women-Harassment Committee, Grievance Redressal Committee, Research Cell, T&P Committee and Alumni Association.
The College has developed several quality assurance mechanisms within its existing academic and administrative system. The IQAC supports workshops, awareness programmes, group discussions, presentations, guest lectures, teaching-learning and evaluation exercises, and research-oriented seminars. It analyses feedback received from students, and communicates quality-assurance policies and plans to alumni at alumni meetings. The IQAC also plays a significant role in promoting new ideas and innovation in the teaching-learning process through the adoption of ICT methods.
